Planning a backpacking trip in Europe can be a tough job. From searching for cheap flights to finding low budget accommodation. I actually recommend flying either Emirates or British Airways. From experience, Emirates offers lower prices probably around SGD 1200 for a round trip to Frankfurt with a two hour stopover at Dubai either direction. British Airways can probably get you to your destination in about 3-4 hours less and at only a slightly higher price of SGD 1500.
Flights to Frankfurt are amongst the cheapest of European cities, and hence it is a good place to start your European adventure.

When planning a trip, the next most important thing is Accommodation! For the budget traveler, you can consider booking a hostel online. One website I recommend is Hostel World. You can book hostels from over 170 countries. They have over 20,000 hostels that you can choose from.
